I am a qualified psychotherapist and psychoanalyst with a long history of therapeutic involvement.
I came to psychotherapy through an interest in the connection between mind and body. During the nineties this led me to train as an Integrative Psychotherapist at the Chiron Centre for Body Psychotherapy. Whilst establishing my private practice in London I worked in a number of community organisations involved in the provision of mediation, mentoring and befriending services. For seven years I was an Honorary Psychotherapist in the psychodynamic psychotherapy team in East London NHS Foundation Trust, my focus being in the area of personality disorder. The challenges of this work together with a longstanding interest in psychoanalytic ideas which had been at the root of my studies in body psychotherapy led me to pursue a further training in Psychoanalysis at the British Psychoanalytic Association.
I have over fifteen years’ experience in private practice (since 2007) coupled with a rigorous clinical and theoretical training at the British Psychoanalytic Association (BPA). The BPA is a component society of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) of which I am also a member. I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and I adhere to their code of ethics and professional conduct.
